Helacar has long been a significant clerical fief of the Meridian Empire with the Archcleric serving as chief spiritual advisor. These lands had been set aside in trust for the Anaryan clergy who have had a history of throwing support toward the Imperial dynastic line. The Archclericy enjoys a warm yet temperate climate with warm to hot summers and modest winters. Much of the rainfall occurs during the early months of Spring. The land is dotted with a number of hot springs that make the Archclericy a popular tourist spot and is the destination of a number of pilgrimages.

Following the time of the Sundering War, Helacar has struggled somewhat to maintain its independence as the Emperor seeks to shore up his holdings and reassert his sovereignty over his vassals. Helacar has no intention of breaking away however since it relys on the empire for much of its defense, especially at sea. The Archcleric does have a fairly substantial private army of soldiers completely independent of the Imperial Crown.

The Church of Anarya has long held authority in the clerical See and as such the realm is literally a hot bed of political intrigue and international power plays. A number of other faiths are certainly recognized in this region but the follows of the Fire Queen are by far the most numerous and the most influential. Temples to all four of the Elder Elemental gods are maintained in the capital city of Templehaven but everyone will any political clout knows that it is the Temple of Anarya that has the only real authority. Clerics of the Fire Queen are said to have a number of spies on their payroll and truly private meetings are almost a luxury. The capital is well known for its many secret meetings and hidden alliances between political factions.

Rumors:Current local gossip has revealed that there are a number of small factions within the Crucible that seek to discredit His Noble Holiness and to seize power. It is also widely believed that a gateway to the Elemental Plane of Fire exists somewhere in the capital city and is heavily guarded by monstrous guards. Salamanders are certainly a great possibility.
